Practical generative AI at work
Drafting, summarizing, coding assistants. The hype cooled; the habit stayed. Companies that treat these tools as assistants with review rules will keep them. Blind auto-publish will keep causing incidents.
On-device and edge AI
NPUs in laptops and phones, local models for privacy-sensitive tasks. Still early for many firms, but the direction is clear: not everything needs a cloud round-trip.
Stronger identity and phishing pressure
Passkeys, better MFA, and — on the other side — better scams. Security tooling that survived 2024 did so because fraud got louder, not quieter.
Cloud cost discipline
Less “move everything to cloud”, more FinOps and right-sizing. Boring, lasting, and tied to real invoices.
What will not stick
Features that only live in demos. Tools nobody owns. AI badges with no workflow change. Those were 2024 noise.
